Table 1 General and anthropometric characteristics of the study participants at baseline

Data are expressed as the number of participants (or proportion) or mean ± standard deviation.

Group differences in age, body composition, duration of training, weekly exercise frequency, and time were assessed using independent samples t tests at baseline.

IE, intensive nutrition education; BE, basic nutrition education.

*Activities that increase heart rate or cause breathlessness for 60 minutes or more per day; Physical activities causing significant breathlessness or sweating for at least 20 minutes.
